The Region

The Hotel Acacias is located at the entrance to Arles. It is surrounded by many free car parks. Easy to reach, it also makes an excellent base to begin discovering the region.

Les Alpilles, take the road to Avignon then, on leaving Arles, follow the directions to Fontvieille to discover…  nature, scrubland, fields of olive-trees and the villages of Fontvieille, Paradou, Maussane les Alpilles, les Baux de Provence, Saint-Rémy de Provence, Eygalières, Eyguiéres, Mouries….

The Camargue: circle the town using the main roads (Boulevards Emile Combes; Les Lices; Clémenceau; Gambetta; Pont de Trinquetaille) then follow directions to les Saintes Maries de la Mer to discover…  saltlakes, rice fields, bulrushes, the Camargue horses, the Camargue bulls, pink flamingos, the beaches and the villages of Saintes-Maries de la Mer and Aigues-Mortes.

The Montagnette: take the road to Avignon then follow  directions to Tarascon to discover… 
Tarascon and its Medieval Castle, Boulbon, Saint-Michel de Frigolet, Barbentane.
